The derby, like the oxford, has one defining characteristic and it is once again in the lacing system. While the oxford has a closed lacing system, the derby has an open lacing system in form of two quarters that are sewn on to the vamp.
In short, derby shoes has dual flaps on either side while oxford shoes do not.
NOTE: These are the various design features you for you to mix and match to craft your own CustomMade shoes.
e.g. Your best fit last is a size 39 classic. You want a black upper leather, with a captoe (brogue), brogue stitch and a dogtail back. We will then construct your shoe in a size 39 classic last accordingly.
